About SBI

01Is SBI affiliated with Stellenbosch University or Stellenbosch Business School?

No. Stellenbosch Business Institute (SBI) is an independent, specialist executive education institution and is not affiliated with Stellenbosch University or Stellenbosch Business School. SBI is part of the NetEd Group, the South African private higher-education group that includes Eduvos, Isa Carstens Academy and SYTA.

02What makes SBI “beyond a business school”?

SBI develops leaders for the world as it will be, not as it was. Rather than teaching traditional frameworks alone, we strengthen leaders' capacity to make sense of change and act with intention. Through intentional learning design, we catalyse meaningful shift and lasting impact for leaders and their organisations.

03Who makes up the SBI educator network?

SBI's diverse international educator network brings together expertise from leadership, business, strategy, neuroscience, futures thinking, innovation and organisational development. Our educators are practitioners first and subject matter experts second, bringing real-world insight and experience into every learning journey.

04Is SBI accredited?

SBI is a specialist executive education institution — not a traditional business school. Our programmes are designed for organisational impact and behavioural shift, not academic credits or qualifications. Where accreditation is a specific requirement for your organisation — for skills development levy claims, SETA alignment, or B-BBEE scorecard purposes — we work with trusted accredited partners within the NetEd Group to ensure your investment qualifies. Our team will advise you on the right structure for your specific needs during a discovery consultation. What we stand behind is something accreditation cannot measure: observable shifts in how your leaders think, decide and act under pressure — and the organisational results that follow.

Our Programmes & Experiences

05What does SBI offer?

SBI offers three types of learning: Tailored Programmes & Masterclasses, immersive Experiences, and Customised Learning Solutions co-created around your organisation's unique challenges.

06Who are your programmes for?

SBI develops leaders at every level, from first-line managers to the C-suite. We partner with CHROs, L&D professionals, Talent teams and executive sponsors to strengthen leadership capability across their organisations. Individual leaders can also book open seats on selected programmes.

07What's the difference between the three SHIFT Factor levels?

Each SHIFT Factor™ Masterclass is intentionally designed for a specific leadership level—Front-Line Manager (stay ahead of pressure), Middle Manager (connect strategy to execution) and Senior Leader (lead the whole system)—because the leadership challenge changes as responsibility grows.

08Can programmes be tailored to our organisation?

Yes. Tailored Programmes and Experiences can be tailored to your organisation, while our Customised Learning Solutions are fully bespoke. Every solution is co-created around your business context, leadership priorities and the shift you want to achieve.

Pricing & Booking

09How does pricing work?

Some SBI programmes have published pricing, while Customised Learning Solutions are priced according to your organisation's requirements, participant numbers and delivery approach. We'll discuss the most appropriate solution during your Discovery Call.

10Do you offer rates for large teams?

Yes. We offer organisation-wide pricing for larger teams and leadership cohorts. Our team will work with you to scope the most appropriate solution for your organisation.

11What's included in the programme fee?

This varies by programme. Masterclasses typically include facilitation, immersive learning experiences, programme materials and a Certificate of Completion. Programme-specific inclusions are outlined on each programme page.

12How do we register participants?

Begin with a Discovery Call or send us an enquiry. We'll guide you through the process, whether you're registering an individual leader, a team or an organisation-wide cohort.

Logistics & Delivery

13Where does SBI's programmes and learning journeys take place?

SBI partners with organisations across South Africa, as well as Namibia, Botswana, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Angola, Kenya, Rwanda, Egypt, Mauritius and Saudi Arabia. Depending on your needs, learning journeys can be delivered in person, virtually or through a blended approach.

14Are programmes in person, online, or both?

It depends on the learning journey. Many programmes combine in-person and virtual learning, while Masterclasses and Experiences are typically delivered in person. Each programme page outlines its delivery format.

15Can you deliver at our venue?

Yes. SBI's learning journeys can be delivered at your premises or at a venue that best supports your participants and learning objectives.
